The picturesque Zagorochoria district in the mountains near Ioannina, a popular tourist resort, experienced a power outage on Sunday due to the heavy snow, ANA reports.
According to the mayor, Giorgos Soukouvelos, the weight of the snow snapped trees that fell onto the power lines and brought down the network.
Meanwhile, the city of Ioannina has been left without running water for at least 24 hours due to a serious technical problem at the central pumping station in Krya.
