New Covid-19 infections have spiked 50 pct over the last week, Health Ministry coronavirus committee member Vana Papaevangelou underlined at the regular televised briefing on Thursday, adding that active infections have now reached 47,000 nationwide, ANA reports.
Doctors and medical staff in the Greek national health system’s Covid-19 wards are currently facing up to five times more work, where patients’ oxygen sometimes runs out by day’s end, instead of a week under less strenuous circumstances, Alternate Health Minister Mina Gaga noted at the briefing.
