A sharp increase in the viral load of SARS-CoV2 (Covid-19 infection) in Thessaloniki is shown by the measurements in the city’s municipal waste, conducted by the Wastewater Epidemiology Group of the Αristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) with Thessaloniki Water Supply & Sewerage, in collaboration with the region of Central Macedonia, within the framework of the National Public Health Organisation’s Network, ANA reports.
According to the AUTH Wastewater Epidemiology Group, although the average weekly increase in the load price from ISO WEEK 27/2024 to week 28/2024 (s.s. impact map of the last two weeks) – as communicated last Wednesday in EODY- was only 24%, the value measured on Monday 7/15/2024 was 66% higher than the immediately previous measurement.
