With the aim of strengthening local information, cultural promotion and tourism promotion, the Municipality of South Kynouria is proceeding with the creation of the new online radio station “KYNOURIA DR”, i.e. Kynouria Municipal Radio. The relevant feasibility study has been approved, while the station is part of the digital transformation of the Municipality, promoting citizen participation and active democracy.
“KYNOURIA DR” will operate as a public information and culture service, under the supervision of the Independent Office of Social Protection, Education, Culture and Sports. Among other things, its program is expected to include live and recorded shows with local news, music, news headlines, live broadcasts of Municipal Councils, announcements and tributes to cultural, sports and social events in the region.
Particular emphasis is expected to be given to the promotion of local advantages and the unique cultural heritage of South Kynouria. Through special tributes and reports, the station will highlight the natural beauties, traditional villages, local products and cultural activities that make up the identity of the region.
This initiative aims to strengthen tourism, attracting visitors with a special interest in cultural and agrotourism, but also to offer a tool for social cohesion and entertainment to the residents. By connecting and collaborating with other municipal radio stations and organizations in Greece, “KYNOURIA DR” will exchange know-how and promote good practices.
The station aspires to upgrade the level of communication of the local community, offering a space for open dialogue and active participation of citizens in issues that directly concern them. At the same time, through special sections, environmental awareness actions and programs that promote the sustainable development of the region will be promoted.
