Aid for accessibility to beaches in Kavala and Nestos

The Ministry of Tourism has approved applications for aid for investment projects for accessible beaches in Kavala and Nestos, within the framework of the Improvement and Modification of Accessibility to Greek Beaches action of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, which is funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.

The above action aims to improve the accessibility of people with mobility problems or disabled people in general, through integrated investment interventions for semi-permanent installations to improve the existing infrastructure.

Among other things, the action includes interventions related to the construction of non-permanent access ramps to the beach (supply of a non-permanent ramp system for access to the sea for people with mobility problems, supply of a wheelchair ramp system for their access to the sea, etc.), supply of non-permanent auxiliary facilities such as removable changing rooms, portable sanitary facilities and corridors consisting of sections of appropriate length for easy transport and storage during the winter period, necessary equipment for an accessible beach, special signage and other infrastructure elements, as appropriate.
