Accessibility support for beaches in the municipalities of Velos-Vocha and Xylokastro-Evrostina

The Ministry of Tourism approved the applications for investment project support for accessible beaches in the municipalities of Velos-Vocha and Xylokastro-Evrostina, within the framework of the action Improving and Modifying Accessibility to Greek Beaches of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, which is financed by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.

Among other things, the action includes interventions related to the construction of non-permanent beach access ramps (supply of a non-permanent ramp system for access to the sea for people with mobility problems, supply of a wheelchair ramp system for their access to the sea, etc.), supply of non-permanent auxiliary facilities such as removable changing rooms, portable sanitary facilities and corridors consisting of sections of appropriate length for easy transport and storage during the winter period, necessary equipment for an accessible beach, special signage and other infrastructure elements, as appropriate.
