Businessman Dinos Astras has passed away. He was one of the pioneers of conference tourism in Greece and among the first presidents of the Association of Conference Organizers in the country. Dinos Astras founded Triaena Tours & Congress, one of the first companies to establish conference tourism and the organization of professional travel in Greece.
In a related statement, the evolution of the original Association today, HAPCO & DES, states:
With deep sorrow, we inform you of the loss of Dinos Astras, founding member, former President of HAPCO & DES, and one of the most active and visionary representatives of the sector.
With consistency over decades, he highlighted the needs and prospects of the Greek conference product, contributing decisively to shaping public dialogue and to the pursuit of a stronger position for our sector.
The Board of Directors of HAPCO & DES expresses its sincere condolences to his family and associates.
We will bid him farewell on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the 3rd Cemetery of Nikaia at 14:00. At the familys request, instead of wreaths, donations may be made in support of the Municipality of Korthi, Andros.
