"Dracula Land" | 1 billion euro investment in Dracula theme park in Romania

Europe’s largest thematic, commercial, and technological project aims to transform the Dracula myth into a modern global brand

A national project with international ambition
A private investment exceeding €1 billion aims to change Romania’s tourism and business footprint. Dracula Land, the ambitious project designed to become the largest entertainment, retail, and technology destination in Europe, positions the country dynamically on the global map of the experience economy.

Developed on an area of 160 hectares, just 20 minutes from Bucharest and 15 minutes from Otopeni Airport, it combines tourism, culture, retail, hospitality, and innovation within a single integrated infrastructure.

As emphasized by the project’s founder, Drago? Dobrescu:
“Dracula Land is more than a real estate project. It is a national symbol, proof that Romania can and must create landmarks with international reach.”

Theme park, arena, hotels, and tech hub in a unified ecosystem
At the heart of the project will be the Dracula Land Theme Park, covering a total area of 780,000 sq.m., with six themed zones and more than 40 major attractions, designed for an international audience.

The complex will also include:

  • A multifunctional arena of 80,000 sq.m., with 22,500 seats, for concerts, festivals, esports, and international events.
  • A Luxury Fashion & Home-Deco Outlet, with 9,000 sq.m. of retail and 3,000 sq.m. of F&B, more than 70 brands, in collaboration with Piuarch Milano and The Mall Firenze.
  • Three hotels (4?, 3?+, and 3?) with a total of 1,200 rooms, conference facilities, and premium services.
  • An Aqua Park & Thermal Spa of 50,000 sq.m., with more than 30 water installations and one of the largest wave pools in Europe.
  • A Racing Track & Motor Park, 4.5 km in length, with full infrastructure for international races and events.
  • A Business Accelerator & Tech Hub of 15,000 sq.m., with more than 1,000 workstations for startups in gaming, AI, and digital creation.

Design with an international signature
The concept and master plan of Dracula Land were developed with the participation of leading international teams in architecture, engineering, finance, and innovation.

According to Gino Garbellini, founding partner of Piuarch Milano,
“this is not merely a commercial project, but a cultural statement, where architecture, technology, and lifestyle coexist.”

From a market perspective, Andreea Mihai, with many years of experience in major international groups, emphasizes that the project “offers stability, predictability, and professional organization—elements that are rare for projects of this scale in Europe.”

Dracula Land Metaverse: the physical and digital worlds become one
Alongside physical development, Dracula Land is designed from the outset as a phygital project. A “phygital project” (physical-digital project) combines physical and digital experiences to create a unified, enhanced interaction for users. Thus, a complete metaverse is being created in Unreal Engine 5, the digital “twin” of the destination, where millions of users will be able to participate remotely. Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) is the most advanced and powerful real-time 3D content creation engine, developed by Epic Games.

The ecosystem will include:

  • DraculaCoin, the project’s native token,
  • NFTs for digital ownership and experiences,
  • AI-based experience personalization and avatars,
  • real-time connectivity with physical events, from concerts to races.

Strong economic impact
Based on current estimates, Dracula Land is expected to generate:

  • more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs,
  • a total economic impact of €5 billion over a decade,
  • approximately 3 million visitors annually in the first phase of operation.

As noted by Vlad Marinescu, President of the International Esports Federation, it is “a cultural and economic asset that will strengthen Romania’s position on the global tourism map in the long term.”

From myth to global landmark
By combining architecture, culture, and cutting-edge technology, Dracula Land aspires to transform a timeless myth into a modern international landmark. A project that not only redefines entertainment in Southeast Europe, but also aims to become a global reference point for the experience economy of the future.
