The appointment of the members of the Special Tourism Committee of the Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica S.A.” of the Attica Region was decided, following an amendment to a previous decision.
This Committee is established by decision of the competent body and consists of seven members, among whom are necessarily included representatives of bodies directly related to tourism activity.
The amendment regarding the composition and appointment of members of the Committee seeks to strengthen and expand the representation in the Committee of the key players in tourism and to ensure the participation of representatives of institutional and professional bodies that are actively involved in the development of thematic forms of tourism (such as cultural, gastronomic, medical, conference tourism, etc.). It should be noted that for the first time, the Special Tourism Committee has been provided for by law in Destination Management and Promotion Organizations.
In this context, the board of directors of the Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica S.A.” decided to appoint the members of the Special Tourism Committee as follows. :
-Efstathios Grigoriadis, representative of the competent Regional Tourism Service of the Ministry of Tourism, with Panagiota Tsirigoti as deputy.
-Agni Christidou, representative of the Greek Chamber of Hotels in the relevant region, with Ioannis Avrampos as deputy.
-Eugenios Vasilikos, representative of the local Hoteliers’ Association, member of the Panhellenic Hoteliers’ Federation, with Theodora Paissiou as deputy.
-Ioanna Papadopoulou, representative of Athens International Airport, with Athina Kolyva, Head of the Tourism Directorate of the Attica Region, as deputy.
-Nikolaos Kelaiditis, President of the Association of Tourist and Travel Agencies in Greece (HATTA), with Sissy Lignou, President of the International Association of Conference and Exhibition Organizers (IAPCO), as deputy.
-Antonios Steliatos, President of the Association of Greek Cruise Ship Owners, with Irene Alexia Panagiotopoulou, DMMO executive, as deputy.
-Former Head of the Tourism Development and Promotion Department of New Metropolitan Attica S.A. (NMA), with Evdokimos Fregoglou, DMMO Coordinator, New Metropolitan Attica, as deputy.
