“Lavender FEST” is already making an appointment for the summer of 2026, returning to Valtos Orestiada, the small village of 130 inhabitants in Evros, with an even more inspirational and rich program of events.
This year’s event, held from June 13th to 17th, 2025, has managed to provide a unique experience, rarely for Greeks. A celebration that combined balloons, live music, colors, aromas, and flavors, creating a magical landscape reminiscent of foreign festivals.
The “lavender FEST”, organized for the second year by the Community Cooperative Company “Aroma Evros” with the support of the Ministry of Rural Development, EOT, the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, and the Municipality of Orestiada, attracted visitors from all over Greece. The five-day program included balloon flights over purple lavender flowers – an innovative action for Greek data – as well as jazz and pop music nights, summer cinema, astronomical observations, and gastronomic events with local flavors and especially liqueurs.
Lavender’s flowering reached its climax in mid-June, offering the ideal setting for the event that successfully sealed the tourist and cultural rejuvenation of the area. The organizers expressed their warm thanks to all those who participated and supported the festival, renewing the appointment for 2026.
In Evros, where traditions meet modern creation, “Evros Aroma” continues to write history, proving that Greece has a lot to offer beyond the usual, even in its remote corners.
