The “Bring Your Chair – Cozy Festival” Festival is of great interest, which “opened its gates” in Sifnos on August 3 and will conclude on August 27, 2025. “Bring Your Chair – Cozy Festival” returned to the Cycladic island of harmony with an anniversary program dedicated to cinema, music and contemporary issues that touch society.
Continuing to host great personalities of world cinema, this year’s festival honors two iconic directors: Costas Gavras, with the screening of his latest film “The Last Breath”, and Emir Kustouritsa, with the screening of the multi-awarded film “White Cat, Black Cat”, on two separate evenings, in the courtyard of the Sifnos Primary School, in Fyrogia.
The multi-awarded Greek-French director Costas Gavras became internationally known for his films with strong political content and deep social reflection. The famous Serbian director Emir Kusturica will be declared an honorary citizen of the island by the Mayor of Sifnos, Mrs. Maria Nadali, and will receive a commemorative ceramic work, crafted by local potter Yannis Lembesis and artist Alexia Psaradele. After the screening of the films, a Q&A will follow with the participation of the directors and the presence of distinguished film critic Nino Fenek Mikelidis.
The festival, organized with the active support of the Municipality of Sifnos, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades and the Cultural Association of Sifnos, includes six events with free admission, reinforcing the idea of culture as a common good – accessible to all.
