On the occasion of the European Mobility Week (which lasts until September 22) and this year with the slogan “Mobility for All” in Chania and “I choose to move sustainably” in Rethymno, the two cities are organizing rich actions for young and old, promoting walking, cycling and sustainable transportation.
In Chania, the actions include educational programs for students of all levels, in collaboration with the Traffic Department, information on the Highway Code, as well as the repair of old bicycles through the Municipality and DEDISA. In addition, the action “I Park and Walk” offers citizens who leave their car at the KYDON Municipal Parking the opportunity to participate in a draw for a bicycle.
In Rethymno, citizens and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in hiking and cycling routes, artistic and cultural interventions, as well as awareness-raising activities for sustainable mobility, promoting a greener and more humane public space.
The two Municipalities invite residents, schools, clubs and organizations to actively participate, strengthening awareness for ecological mobility and safety in the city.
