The 48th international tourism exhibition TRAVEL + is scheduled to take place in Budapest from 19 to 22 February 2026.
The exhibition is the most important event in the tourism sector in Hungary and is aimed at both professionals and the general public. A total of 206 exhibitors (tourism companies, national participations, country regions, cities and travel agencies) from 35 countries participated in the 2025 event. The number of visitors to the Exhibition exceeded 23,000.
In addition, seminars and workshops are organized within the framework of the Exhibition, where, among other things, modern tourism trends, the emergence of various sectors of alternative tourism as well as new destinations abroad are analyzed.
Alongside the Tourism Fair and in the same venue, the Budapest Boat Show, E-Bike Test & Show and the Caravan Fair (Karaván Salon) will be held, as every year. It is also noted that, apart from the last event, in the previous two years there was Greek participation from Regions and Municipalities.
It should be noted that the Greek tourism product remains extremely popular in Hungary, with our country consistently being one of the main choices of Hungarians for their holidays.
Moreover, according to announcements by the country’s Ministry of National Economy, direct American Airlines flights between Budapest and Philadelphia, USA, will resume on a daily basis from May 2026. It is noted that direct flights between Hungary and the United States had been suspended since 2020, due to the pandemic.
In addition, the Ministry of National Economy announced the launch of a Construction Development Plan worth a total of 25 billion. According to the plan, the government will upgrade Hungary’s infrastructure by 2035, focusing on projects in the fields of healthcare, culture, education, transport and water supply.
In addition, there are four other initiatives in the government’s plan, which concern housing construction, tax cuts, and the protection of industry and jobs.
