The Amari Green Festival is back again this year from July, 21 to July, 25 2017 at Amari Village presenting 40 events, 80 hours full of programme, 400 people from Greece and abroad.
The Amari Green Festival will be hosted at the School of Agioi Asomatoi, in the centre of Amari Municipality and some further activities and events will be hosted at some of the Villages around; exhibitions of old photos depicting festivals and folklore festivities from the villages of Amari region, photography lessons, presentations of culinary traditions, contests, folk/traditional dance Classes, star observations, DIY crafts of old toys, euchre (preferans) contest, are just some of the festival’s activities.
The festival will present world-class Cretan artists, performers, musicians and dancers who will be brought together with some artists from abroad, in a unique blend of culture.
The environmental aspects of the AGF2017, such as the environmental responsibility and the sustainability challenges are reflected upon the festival’s programme.
The Festival is organised by the Municipality of Amari, the Public Benefit Organisation of Amari, the Cultural company “Eidomen” and this year it is coorganised by the Prefecture of Crete, the Prefectural Unit of Rethymno, the Ministry of Culture & Sports, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of environment and Energy.
