Greece fully covered electricity needs using only renewables for the first time

Greece managed to cover 100 pct of the national demand for electricity using only renewables for a period of five hours last week, for the first time in the history of the Greek electricity grid, the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) announced on Monday, ANA reports.
According to numbers released by IPTO, production from renewables reached a new historic high (3.106 MW), exceeding the system’s net charge capacity, between 11:00 and 16:00 on October 7.
