Greek Climate Crisis & Citizen Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias met with visiting British Minister of State for Europe Stephen Doughty on Monday, ANA reports.
In a statement on X platform, Kikilias said he had a “cordial, targeted, and constructive meeting” in which he and Doughty “agreed to deepen and intensify our bilateral cooperation on issues of civil protection” and stressed the need to address jointly the multiple global challenges stemming from the climate crisis.
Kikilias added that Doughty “expressed a profound gratitude for the emblematic actions of the Fire Service during the wildfires last year in Rhodes and this year in Kos, which safeguarded the lives of thousands of his compatriots visiting our islands as tourists.”
