The study iAlonissos – Development of a comprehensive digital interactive mobile application for the promotion of local natural and cultural tourist attractions of Alonissos has been approved by the municipality of Alonissos.
The project aims to develop a comprehensive digital interactive application for the promotion of Alonissos as a place, its resources, and its tourist businesses for operation on mobile phones and tablets. The application will enable the user to navigate the area, both from their place of residence, viewing the entire map and receiving comprehensive information about the resources and tourist businesses, and in real-time for browsing or even guided tours.
Dynamic tour of Alonissos
The remote application will be static, while the application that will operate during the tour will be dynamic, as the user will be able to receive information about the resources he encounters on his way as he walks. He will be able to do the same statically, from his accommodation, going to any point in the area of interest he wishes.
The main objective of the application is to provide comprehensive information to the visitor regarding points of archaeological, historical, religious, and architectural interest, areas of natural beauty, sights, as well as thematic or non-thematic routes in the wider area of the municipality of Alonissos. Furthermore, the application will provide information about the places that the user can visit, about the places where he can spend the night, about the way he moves around the area, about the options he may have for food or entertainment, and more.
Therefore, the application will provide all the elements that can increase his tourist experience to the best possible level, in an easy and practical way, so that he becomes the best ambassador of the region in the future for other potential visitors.
The application will also provide the possibility of multilingualism, without limitation to the number of languages it can serve.
Finally, in a specially designed space in a building of the municipality of Alonissos, an Info-Point will be placed where the region will be promoted through the demonstration of the iAlonissos application, while there will also be interactive games for children.
