Students of Adele Primary School had the opportunity to experience a unique action dedicated to environmental education, as part of the international campaign “Global Action Days” organized every year by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
This year’s campaign focuses on coastal protection, highlighting the crucial role of coastal vegetation in dealing with flooding, soil erosion and pollution.
In this context, the Aquila Rithymna Beach hotel opened its gates and hosted an educational action for young guests, with the participation of the hotel’s Ecological Team. The children were given a tour of the complex’s lush gardens and beach, were informed about the importance of protecting the natural environment and enjoyed a rich breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, while the experience was completed with games and entertainment at the Children’s Village.
The action is part of the broader framework of the environmental strategy of the Aquila Hotels & Resorts Group, which emphasizes issues of sustainability and environmental responsibility. The main pillars of the Group’s policy include:
- Rational energy management
- Responsible use of water resources
- Reduction and proper management of waste
- Protection of biodiversity and coastal ecosystems
- Improvement of air quality
- Preservation of the marine environment
