As part of the events for the renewal of the Blue Flag distinction in two of its hotels, the Atrium Hotels & Resorts group implemented a series of environmental awareness-raising activities in July at the Atrium Palace and Atrium Prestige hotels. The aim of the activities was to highlight, in an experiential way, the environmental and social initiatives implemented by the group throughout the year, while encouraging the participation of visitors in creative and interactive activities on the hotel shores.
The activities were designed in such a way that young and old alike understand the importance of daily environmental responsibility and become familiar with the group’s strategy for Reducing the Individual Carbon Footprint. This is a holistic approach that encourages sustainability and innovation practices, which can easily be integrated into the daily lives of every citizen and visitor.
The program included the presentation of the main axes of the group’s environmental policy, as well as examples of actions with social and environmental impact. It also included seabed cleaning by professional divers, craft stations with recyclable and natural materials, games and activities on the theme of recycling and nature protection, face painting with environmental themes and finally, a presentation of the action of recognizing and protecting marine life, which is implemented in collaboration with the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes and the
CoinSEp “For Nature”.
The visitors responded warmly, with several families actively participating. The initiative served as a stimulus for meaningful dialogue and reflection, cultivating environmental awareness through experience and offering ideas for continuing the practices after the holidays. Every small act, when repeated consistently,
can become a starting point for substantial change.
According to a group announcement, for Atrium Hotels & Resorts, “the Blue Flag is not just an environmental distinction. It is a constant reminder of responsibility towards the environment, society and future generations. Consistent with the values of sustainability, the group continues to implement practices that reduce its environmental footprint, protect the environment in practice and promote tourism with substance, respect and a lasting positive impact.”
