IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the promotion of Philipp Economou to the position of regional general manager for Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, effective January 2025.
Mr. Economou, a graduate of the Swiss Alpine Center (SAC) in Switzerland, based at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, has served as the head of operations in Bahrain and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and then assumed the role of general manager for Bahrain and Oman, before being promoted to regional general manager.
He joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 1995 and his extensive experience includes leadership roles at IHG hotels in Greece, Spain, France, Miami, Abu Dhabi, Fujaira,h and Bahrain.
