Continuous work stoppages in railway transport across Greece

Workers at the Suburban Railway (TRENOSE) and the main railway will be taking part in 3-hour stoppages starting on Tuesday, June 28. For Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, as well as next Tuesday, July 5 there will be no services between 5am till 8am, 1pm till 4pm, and 9pm till midnight.

The unions have also announced they would be holding a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, July 6, the day companies are expected to make their binding bids for the buy out of the transport services.

On that day (July 6) the whole railway train services will not be operating, including the lines to Thessaloniki, Patra and routes to Athens International airport ‘Elefterios Venizelos’.

Among other demands, workers are calling for the signing of a collective contract and the hiring of more staff material maintenance.
