No trains will be running on Athens metro line 1 (the former ISAP electric railway line from Kifissia to Piraeus) from noon until 15:00 on Monday, due to a work stoppage by staff.
The strike action was called in protest against a decision to scrap paper tickets and travelcards by the end of this month, with staff warning that passengers will be inconvenienced as there has been no preparation for the transition to the electronic cards.
