TRAINOSE (Greek Railways and the Proastiakos suburban railway) will start issuing e-tickets and e-cards on Monday, in the context of introducing electronic tickets in public transport, according to a TRAINOSE announcement on Friday.
Furthermore, the company said that TRAINOSE tickets and cards continue to be valid for travel in the urban zone, within OASA networks, adding that all paper cards that have been already issued are valid until their expiry date.
Until such a time as the OASA and TRAINOSE systems are totally compatible, passengers will receive a non-personalised ATHENACard longside their paper travelcards and tickets, which will allow them to pass through all OASA ticket barriers and be used on all OASA systems.
