Athens metro revenue up 12% after ticket gates activated and fare evasion drops

The activating of ticket gates on the Athens metro and the urban railway (ISAP), along with changes to the way passengers board buses, has helped boost revenues and reduce fare evasion, announced the Athens public transport organisation OASA on Wednesday, according to ANA

Revenues have increased by 12% after the gates were activated on the train lines in July and passengers were forced to enter buses only from the front door, next to the driver.
