Metro Line 3 is resuming its operation directly connecting Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” (AIA) to the city centre on Saturday, it was announced Friday, according to ANA.
This reverses a decision by the Urban Rail Transport (STASY) implemented on November 1, according to which all Line 3 trains terminated at Doukissis Plakentias Station and passengers travelling to and from the airport had to change trains and platforms to continue their ride.
STASY had argued the purpose of the change was to increase the frequency of trains on the Agia Marina-Doukissis Plakentias section of the line during peak hours.
