ERGOSE is preparing tender documents for the studies regarding the connection between Patra city, its Industrial Area and Araxos Airport, meeting a decades-long demand, ypodomes.com notes.
According to an ERGOSE report, in 2007 the study had been attempted in the framework of the project for Patra-Pyrgos-Kalamata railway line but due to its ineligibility, it didn’t proceed.
Nevertheless, tender documents are now being prepared for the connection of the main line with the region’s Industrial Area. In the same context, we expect studies for the rail link to Araxos Airport, that had been attempted a decade ago, through NSRF, without success.
The principal focus now will be for the project to secure funds through NSRF, an effort which would need OSE’s “green light” in order for it to be considered necessary, paving the way for its studies preparation as well as the maturation of the respective project.
