TRAINOSE, the operator of the Greek railways, is fully prepared for the bad weather expected across the country from Sunday and has taken all necessary measures, the company’s CEO Philippos Tsalidis told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
Machinery to clear snow and prevent it from freezing on the tracks is on standby throughout the network, from Athens to Alexandroupolis, he pointed out, while diesel-engines have been sent to strategic locations so that they can step in and pull trains if the power to the electrified rail is cut.
