Rescheduling of summer transport helps congestion in Greek capital of Athens

Rescheduling and the revocation of holidays for staff have improved congestion on public transportation, Infrastructure & Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis said on Monday on Skai TV, ANA reports.

In the metro, particularly lines 2 and 3 (red and blue), rescheduling means that trains come every 6-7 minutes at most during peak times, while on line 1 (the electric train, or Isap), there is a train every 8 minutes the latest during peak times. The schedules are being reviewed on a daily basis and will be adjusted as necessary, the minister said.
