The National Action Plan for Road Safety 2021-2030 will be announced οn Wednesday, at 11:00, by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Kostas Karamanlis and the Deputy Minister Yiannis Kefalogiannis, in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, ANA reports.
The most important interventions of the project concern, among others:
* The categorization of violations by the degree of danger, with emphasis on violations that increase the probability of a fatal car accident.
* Distinguishing penalties based on driving behavior and vehicle safety.
* The reduction of average speed in residential areas.
* The integration of new categories of vehicles, such as that of micro-mobility (scooters, etc).
* The mandatory use of a protective helmet for all cyclists up to 12 years old.
