Tram and metro restrictions for Independence Day parades in Athens announced

Restrictions in Athens tram and metro train services will come into effect on Thursday and Friday because of student and military parades for Greek Independence Day on March 25, ANA reports.

On Thursday (March 24), trams on the Pikrodafni-Syntagma line will terminate at the ‘Fix’ stop from 08:00 to the end of the student parade in central Athens and the same will apply on Friday from shift’s start until the end of the military parade. Both parades are programmed to end by midday.

On Friday (March 25), trams on the Asklipieion Voulas-Akti Posidonos line will terminate at the ‘Palaio Dimarchio’ stop from 08:00 to 13:00, and at ‘SEF’ stop from 08:00 to 13:30.

The Syntagma Square metro station will remain closed on Independence Day from the shift’s start until the end of the parades, and during that time trains will not stop there.
