Athens metro and train strike on Sunday

Workers on lines 1, 2, and 3 of the Athens metro system announced a 24-hour strike on Sunday in protest over the deadly train crash in Tempi, except between the hours of 9:00 in the morning and 16:00 in the afternoon, so as to facilitate those attending a protest rally in the city center, ANA reports.
They called for a mass turnout for the rally at 11:00 in Syntagma in protest against the disaster, which led to 57 deaths and scores of injuries.
Hellenic Train services throughout the country will also not be running due to a 48-hour strike by the rail workers union on Saturday and Sunday.
The strike action will also affect train and metro services to and from the Athens airport.
