The Council of State (CoS) agreed with a petition that the works on Athens metro Line 4 at ‘Evangelismos’ stop must be suspended until a required and approved technical and environmental report (TEPEM) is filed, ANA reports.
The Alsos Veikou-Goudi Line will also include Evangelismos as a stop.
CoS was petitioned by the Nikolaos D. Pateras Foundation and Pateras himself, who funded the landscaping of the park and the restoration of the chapel it contains, requesting a relocation of the works. The decision temporarily preserves nearly 230 trees and the rest of the plants at Rizari Park.
