Payment by bank cards now accepted on Athens Airport Express bus lines

The pilot implementation of the contactless payment system by bank card or digital wallet, via smartphone and smartwatch, on the express buses for the Athens International Airport (AIA) began on Wednesday, ANA reports.

The buses Χ93, Χ95, Χ96, and Χ97 connect Athens and Piraeus to the AIA and make few stops. Before the new system, payment was only made through prepaid ATH.ENA tickets or cards.

By the end of the year, the new system will be available for passengers of all mass transport, which is managed by the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA): buses, trolleys, metro, and trams.
