Work on the Thessaloniki Flyover is progressing at a rapid pace
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announces that after the delivery to the Private Partnership Entity of all the lands necessary for the construction of the project “Upgrading the Eastern Internal Regional Road of Thessaloniki with PPP” (Flyover), the contractor-construction consortium has developed a wide construction site along the entire length of the Eastern Internal Regional Road of Thessaloniki.
Furthermore, following the implementation of the approved traffic regulations, the work is being implemented at a particularly rapid pace along the largest length of the construction site.
Indicatively, earthworks are in full swing, and small and medium-sized technical and hydraulic works are being constructed. At the same time, the construction of large technical structures, such as Cut and Cover [T8], [T15] and [T21] in the Konstantinopolitika area, as well as in the area before the Elevated Expressway bridge, has begun, and is in progress.
For the construction of the Elevated Expressway, which is an approximately four (4) kilometer flyover, the rolling metal carriage (formwork) is being installed, which will be used for concreting, which will move hydraulically along the entire project, on the piers that are already being constructed.
For this reason, the construction of the foundation pits and the piers of the flyover bridge is preceded, while the concreting works are expected to begin in March.
The project is progressing according to schedule and 20% has already been implemented.
