Given the increased traffic on the country’s major roads, the Greek police remind drivers and road users that road safety is everyone’s business.
In this context, it recommends that citizens:
Before traveling, they should have their vehicle inspected and be informed about the state of the road network and weather conditions.
To be particularly careful when driving and to observe the rules of the Highway Code.
To respect road markings and comply with the instructions of traffic police officers.
Not using mobile phones or other devices that distract their attention while driving.
Not to consume alcoholic beverages if they are going to drive.
To protect children in the vehicle by using child seats.
To “wear” seat belts as well as helmets on motorcycles.
Use snow chains where there are special traffic conditions (ice, etc.).
Do not overestimate their driving skills and the technical capabilities of their vehicles.
To respect and protect their fellow passengers and fellow human beings who use the road network, they should drive their vehicles responsibly and with caution.
