New Uber pickup point at Athens International Airport

In a move that signals the strengthening of its presence in the Greek market, Uber announced its new partnership with Athens International Airport (AIA), inaugurating a new, exclusive passenger pickup point. As of May 1, 2025, all trips via the Uber platform will start from Exit 4 of the arrivals level, replacing the previous points at Exits 1 and 5.

This move is part of Uber’s broader strategy to upgrade the transportation experience of travelers visiting Athens, especially in a period in which passenger traffic at AIA is recording a steady upward trend. Indicatively, in the first quarter of 2025, 5.8 million passengers were served, a number that increased by 11.4% compared to the same period in 2024, with international traffic recording a 15% increase.

“This strategic partnership with Athens International Airport is a key step in our effort to elevate the travel experience for visitors to Greece. Recognizing the importance of comfortable and safe travel throughout the entire journey, we are creating a distinct pickup point, focusing on reliability and convenience for our users from the moment they arrive,” said Sarita Varouch, General Manager of Uber in Greece.

This partnership underscores the importance of Athens as a leading tourist destination and enhances the possibilities of travel to and from the airport. At the same time, it confirms Uber’s commitment to providing innovative and quality urban mobility solutions, strengthening its position as the first choice for travelers choosing the Greek capital.
