Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura participates in the International Cruise Exhibition Seatrade Cruise Global held in Fort Lauderdale, USA, from March 14 to March 17, with the view to promoting Greece as a popular cruise destination worldwide.
The Seatrade Cruise Global exhibition is the largest in the sector and constitutes a central meeting point for the representatives of the cruise market.
Greece participated in this year’s exhibition with a National Greek Tourism (EOT) pavilion and Mrs. Kountoura met with representatives of the largest cruiseship companies among them the president and CEO of Crystal Cruises Edie Rodriguez, the president of Silversea Cruises Manfredi Lefevre and the president of Carnival Cruises Christine Duffy.
The Greek minister outlined Greece’s comparative advantages and its uniqueness in sea tourism as well as to the planning for the further development of the cruise tourism that constitutes one of the national tourism policy ‘s priorities. She also stressed the substantial prospects for upgrading the existing itineraries and introducing new ones to popular Greek destinations and ports.
She also represented Greece in the exhibition’s congress during which the developments and prospects of sea tourism were presented by top experts of the sector.
