The first cruise ship for 2025, the luxurious M/V “Spirit of Adventure” of the company “AirSeaLand Rhodes Cruise Ops”, was welcomed by Rhodes yesterday, Sunday, February 2, 2025, welcoming the approximately 1000 English passengers and the 497 crew members, who made a “paved” stopover for 2025, which essentially marked the start of this year’s tourist year.
It is a fact that the natural beauties of the island of Rhodes, its marine environment, ideal weather conditions, culture, and the authentic hospitality of its inhabitants, highlight Rhodes as one of the most popular cruise ports and an attractive destination for thousands of passengers throughout the year.
The cruise ship Spirit of Adventure approached the tourist port of Rhodes at 8 am coming from Antalya, Turkey, and remained until 5 pm when it departed for the next stop on its journey, Heraklion, Crete.
The Municipality of Rhodes, with the Deputy Mayor for Tourism and Culture and President of ProTour, George Toppos, the Deputy Mayor for Communication, George Pattas, the President of the Municipal Port Fund of Southern Dodecanese, Vassilis Vagianakis, in the presence of Anastasios Konstantaros in his capacity as the Maritime Tourism Advisor of the Municipal Port Fund, as well as executives of the Tourism Directorate of the Municipality of Rhodes and the Department of Communication and Public Relations of the Municipality of Rhodes and other local and tourist bodies of the island, warmly welcomed the captain, officials, crew and of course the passengers of the cruise ship Spirit of Adventure.

The Deputy Mayor Mr. Toppos exchanged plaques and gifts with the Croatian captain of the cruise ship Luko Vojvoda (photo), as well as the president of the Port Fund of the Southern Dodecanese Vasilis Vagianakis, present and local representatives of the company “AirSeaLand Rhodes Cruise Ops”.
Executives of the Tourism Directorate of the Municipality of Rhodes distributed printed and digital information material about the island and melekounia to tourists. The first visitors to Rhodes expressed their enthusiasm for the warm welcome and thanked the organizers for the reception.
“Cruising is a key priority of the municipal authority as Rhodes, in addition to its other capabilities and comparative advantages, has ports that can accommodate large and modern cruise ships. Our goal is to consolidate the presence of Rhodes in the cruise market and in the approaches of international cruise companies and to strengthen its position as a highly competitive Mediterranean and European destination in maritime tourism, through the promotion and promotion of new thematic tourist products and experiences,” emphasized Deputy Mayor Mr. Toppos, while also emphasizing the optimistic messages coming this year for a large number of cruise ship approaches to the port of Rhodes.
