Celestyal Journey returns to cruising after refit

Celestyal Journey is returning to cruising in the Arabian Gulf following a scheduled refit in Dubai. The 1,260-passenger ship set sail on February 15 for the “Desert Days” cruise, which departed Doha and called at Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, with overnight stops at Dubai Marina, as well as Khasab and Sir Bani Yas Island.

The €6.5 million refit included the application of the ship’s new corporate identity, featuring Celestyal’s signature waves and stars, to match the aesthetic of Celestyal Discovery. At the same time, the underwater section of the ship underwent a special treatment and was painted with silicone paint, while the energy management system was upgraded to improve operational performance and overall operational efficiency.

Celestyal Journey has two more “Desert Days” cruises scheduled to depart from Doha on February 22 and March 1, 2025, and three “Desert Days” cruises scheduled to depart from Dubai on February 17 and 24, 2025, as well as the recently announced March 3, 2025 cruise added due to demand.

The cruise ship will then return to Athens for the start of the Greek and Mediterranean season and undergo further maintenance procedures before the start of the season on April 12, sailing round-trip from Athens on the new “Panorama of Greece, Italy, Croatia” cruise, with calls at Kefalonia, Kotor, Bari, Corfu, and Katakolo and an overnight stay in Dubrovnik.
