With significant port upgrade and modernization projects, 2025 concluded for Mykonos, which welcomed a total of 2,191,908 ferry and cruise passengers throughout the year.
The announcement from the Mykonos Municipal Port Fund includes public works, studies, and repairs carried out, as well as those planned for the new year.
Specifically, in terms of projects:
- Completed: Maintenance and filling of quayside holes at the Old Port of Mykonos, contract value 489,990.09.
- Completed: Repair of damaged quay at the marina of the New Port of Mykonos, contract value 249,911.15.
- Completed: Widening of vehicle ramp at the fishing shelter, Old Port of Mykonos, contract value 36,104.40.
- Completed: Construction of ramps for people with mobility issues within the tourist port, Tourlos, New Mykonos, contract value 31,892.33.
- Ongoing: Restoration of the remaining section of the bridgeaccess islet at the New Port of Mykonos (section A), contract value 503,710.56.
- Ongoing: Restoration of damaged superstructure and quay fronts of port facilities due to urgent need after severe weather events, contract value 63,717.40.
- Contract signed for Repair of undermined areas at the Old Port of Mykonos, to begin in January, contract value 36,804.46.
In terms of studies received:
- Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for Shaping of transverse pier at the south mole (Deliana) and addition of floating pier extending the existing mole at the Old Port of Mykonos, contract value 9,920.00.
- Preliminary design study for pedestrian pathway between Old and New Port of Mykonos, contract value 37,100.80.
- Study for the supply of automation equipment for parking areas at the Old Port of Mykonos, contract value 36,032.85.
Also ongoing are: Study for repair of the New Port breakwater, contract value 36,257.60, and Preparation of Safety and Watch Regulations for vessels under the responsibility of the Mykonos Municipal Port Fund, contract value 7,206.57. Ongoing are also Replacement of damaged window frames in Mykonos Port buildings due to storm events, contract value 348,416.06, and the procurement contract for Upgrade of Mykonos port fender system, contract value 3,697,538.60. This project is part of the Operational Program South Aegean 2021-2027 as approved by the South Aegean Governor.

- Replacement of damaged fire hydrants at Mykonos Port facilities, contract value 38,688.00
- Procurement of FRP manhole equipment at cruise docking area, New Port of Mykonos, contract value 122,136.28
- Replacement of damaged power and water supply boxes at Mykonos Port facilities, contract value 231,756.00
- Restoration of electrical infrastructure at Mykonos Port facilities due to urgent need, contract value 371,651.95
- Procurement of Portable stainless steel railings (70 units), contract value 34,720.00
- Procurement of Digital platform for managing vessel arrival/departure requests BERTH ALLOCATION, contract value 36,456.00
- Procurement of One (1) used electric passenger vehicle for Mykonos Municipal Port Fund, contract value 11,160.00 including 24% VAT
- Procurement of Electric pedestrian-operated vacuum sweeper for cleaning/disinfection of port zones, contract value 28,520.00
- Procurement of Electromechanical barriers (OTE and Platis Gialos), contract value 19,840.00
- Procurement of 70 rubber fenders for the Old Port of Mykonos, contract value 27,776.00
Ongoing are: Procurement and installation of 60 mooring bollards at Mykonos Ports, contract value 35,166.40. The Mykonos Port Fund Ship Waste Plan has been submitted for approval, while waste collection and port cleaning services have been contracted to a private company following an electronic tender.
Ongoing is also the service contract: Services for Marine Environment Protection and Response to Marine Pollution & Revision of the Current Emergency Plan for Port Pollution of the Mykonos Municipal Port Fund.
Finally, the plan for the new year includes improvements at the Old Port under the South Aegean 2021-2027 program, including restoration of the Old Yacht Club building, expansion and addition of new buildings, installation of security systems (ISPS code), and installation of a photovoltaic station.
