Greece’s Southern Aegean region is accelerating the licencing procedure for six of the 25 seaplane bases to be established in the Aegean islands.
The authorities’ goal is that the licence for the six bases will be issued in 2018.
Regional governor Giorgos Hatzimarkou clarified during a meeting of the Regional Development Fund in Ermoupolis, on the island of Syros, that his region is working very hard to create a network and ordered that the first six seaplane bases on the islands of Syros, Naxos, Amorgos, Kalymnos, Leros and Lipsous should proceed immediately.
