A new important approval for seaplane landings and landings has been completed…!! The development of the national seaplane network is progressing, as the Kyllini destination officially received the “green light” from the competent authorities, paving the way for the operational operation of seaplanes.
Kyllini enters the map of maritime aviation and becomes a gateway to the Ionian islands but also a connection point with the approved destinations Alimos, Kalamata, Eratini and Patras, constituting a strategic station for Hellenic Seaplanes.
At the same time, the company, in close collaboration with the Municipality of Kyllini – Andravida and the Mayor Mr. Ioannis Lentzas as well as the Kyllini Seaplanes with President Mr. Konstantinos Chantzis, have already completed the land infrastructure and with the installation of the floating mooring pier, is preparing for the first flights.
In particular, Hellenic Seaplanes, as in the case of Kalamata, is preparing pilot familiarization flights to the port of Kyllini in the coming period with the aim of the people of Ilia getting to know the seaplanes and their capabilities up close!
With the announcement of the approval of the Kyllini Water Field, the President and CEO of Hellenic Seaplanes, Mr. Nikolas Charalambous, emphasized:
“Kyllini officially enters our network, offering seaplanes direct access to the Ionian Sea and the Peloponnese. The approval of the infrastructure is another decisive step towards the launch of regular routes that will bring travelers closer together with unique travel experiences. Hellenic Seaplanes, in collaboration with the local community and the relevant bodies, is moving forward dynamically in the implementation of its vision for a fully functional waterway network throughout Greece”.
For his part, the Mayor of Kyllini, Mr. Lentzas, stated: “The approval of the Kyllini Water Plane is a milestone for our place. It creates new opportunities for tourism development, strengthens the extroversion of our region and brings Kyllini closer to the Ionian islands and the rest of the Peloponnese. The Municipality will continue to actively support new investments in the region and will assist in the development of relevant important projects”.
The President of the Municipal Port Fund of Kyllini, Mr. Konstantinos Chantzis, emphasized:
“The operation of the Kyllini waterway is a strategic addition for our port and creates new prospects for mobility and tourism development.”.
Hellenic Seaplanes continues to methodically expand the waterway network, aiming to create an integrated system of connections that will change the map of travel in Greece.
