A Greek hotel located on a private island near Argyronisos in Evia, Silver Island Yoga, was distinguished at the recent World Boutique Hotel Awards 2015 by winning the gold award in the Best European Beachfront Boutique hotel category (Europe’s Best Beach or Coastal Boutique).
The hotel promises a unique yoga experience on a private, virgin dreamlike island. Argyronisos (Silver Island) has been owned for 50 years by the Christie family and has experienced golden times in the distant past as a destination for the international jet set.On the island there are only a few whitewashed houses, a church and a lighthouse, making it an ideal place for authentic yoga experiences thanks to its tranquility. The Silver Island Yoga is a small shelter that can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 rooms available.
The awards were announced on November 1 at a ceremony held at the Montcalm Hotel in London.
The ceremony brought together an array of boutique hotel owners, travel and lifestyle press and travel industry influencers from all four corners of the world, including representatives from the British Guild of Travel Writers, CNN, The Embassy of Morocco, Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, The Financial Times, Monocle magazine, The Times, Boat International, The Mail Online and hoteliers around the world.
This year’s keynote speech was delivered by Robin Sheppard, chairman of Bespoke Hotels, and other esteemed guest presenters and speakers at the event included Paolo Macchiaroli, founder of My Private Villas, Hilary Lancaster from Fusion Interiors Group and Best Travel Services, James Fisher from Globe Trotter luxury luggage and Rosalind Milani Gallieni of RMG PR & Events. The event also saw the launch of Master Key Society, by Awards Founder Edward Gabbai with Manolis Vordonis of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel.
The Society embarks on a new collaborative venture to create valuable relationships exclusively amongst the Winners of the WBHA, by facilitating hotel exchange visits between them, to share know-how and experience.
