A total of 85 members of the academic community of the University of Crete (professors, teachers and researchers) are included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list of Stanford University, which highlights the world’s top scientists. Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists List is the annual ranking list of researchers worldwide based on bibliographic references in their field. The ranking is based on the c-score, which is calculated based on the total number of citations, the h-index, the Hm-index (adjusted for the number of authors in an article), the number of citations to unique authors and other bibliometric indicators, in order to ensure its validity and acceptance by the entire research community.

The Rectorate of the University of Crete congratulates the members of the Foundation for their significant distinction. Their inclusion in the list of the most recognized researchers worldwide is a clear indication of the excellence and international recognition that the University of Crete has achieved in the field of scientific research.
