The best travel agency chains in Germany were presented by the German Quality Service Institute (DISQ) after a survey carried out on behalf of N-TV channel.
The overall results were positive with 12 chains receiving a “good” assessment for the quality of their services.
The Derpart chain ranked first and was followed by the DER offices.
The main criteria for evaluating the 390 agencies belonging to 13 chains were their travel advisory expertise and the friendly staff.
The services that DISQ evaluated were not limited to in-shop customer service but also telephones and e-mails.
Stronger chains perform better in direct communication with customers, while their employees are friendly and spend a lot of time on every potential customer.
In comparison to the internet, the benefits of a holiday agent at the tour desk are obvious, DISQ Chief Executive Markus Hamer comments, as the questions and special preferences of customers are immediately taken into account.
