Ekaterini (Katerina) Stefanidi won the bronze medal in the women’s pole vault event at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha on Sunday, with a season-best clearance of 4.85 metres, ANA reports.
“I am very happy with this medal. I won the bronze medal in a difficult high-level race setting a record this year,” Stefanidi noted and added: “In today’s race, I didn’t feel as good as I did in the qualifiers. However, I did what I needed to, I outdid myself and had a very good third attempt at 4.85 meters.”
