The prospects for further strengthening tourism ties between Greece and Iran were the focus of a meeting held by the President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Travel & Tourism Agencies (FedHATTA), Mr. Lysandros Tsilidis, with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Malek Hossein Givzad, on Tuesday, February 4 at the Federation’s offices in Athens.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide information on the organization of the tourism forum “First Meeting of 100 Tourism Operators from Around the World in Isfahan”, which is being organized from February 19 to 23 in Isfahan, Iran by the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining, and Tourism in collaboration with five leading tourism organizations in Iran.
During the discussion, the Ambassador of Iran informed Mr. Tsilidis about the infrastructure of the country’s most important attractions, emphasizing that Iran is ready to welcome Greek travelers with competitive packages and programs. As a destination with a rich history and culture, Iran has been linked diachronically with Greek heritage, offering unique travel experiences.
Mr. Tsilidis said for his part that as Greek tourist agencies look for interesting travel packages, it is certain that they will be able to locate them among those proposed by Iran as a tourist destination, spreading this information to Greek travelers seeking experiences abroad. But also from the perspective of Iranian travelers to our country, it is the right time to redefine this important tourist market that was once a point of reference for Greek tourism.
