With the aim of strengthening tourist flows from the rapidly growing Chinese market to Greece, the Federation of Hellenic Travel & Tourism Agency Associations (FedHATTA) and the Association of Greek Tourist and Travel Agencies (HATTA) are giving a strong “presence” at the leading international tourism exhibition ITB China, which takes place from 27 to 29 May 2025 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.
As part of the participation of the two organizations at the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) stand at ITB China, travel agencies-members of FedHATTA Associations from all over Greece will have the opportunity to hold professional meetings with their counterparts from China, expanding their collaborations and exploring new ones, with the aim of strengthening two-way tourism traffic.
Representatives of FedHATTA and HATTA will have the opportunity to present the proposals of Greek travel agencies to a diverse professional audience, with particular emphasis on the luxury, thematic, and customized travel markets, as well as the dynamically developing corporate travel and MICE segment.
This year’s exhibition saw an increase in exhibition space of over 30% compared to 2024, hosting over 700 exhibitors from 85 countries and expecting 1,400 selected buyers from all over China. The ITB China Conference will take place alongside the exhibition, hosting over 150 speakers in over 60 thematic panels this year, covering key areas such as China’s business travel market, innovation in tourism technology, and global trends in tourism services.
Greece, with a solid and strengthened presence in the Chinese market, seeks to capitalize on the ever-growing demand for authentic, experiential experiences and high-end travel.
FedHATTA President, Mr. Lysandros Tsilidis, stated:
“The participation of Greek travel agencies in China’s largest tourism exhibition once again confirms the strategic importance of the Chinese market for Greek tourism, and aims to further strengthen Greece’s presence as a high-value-added destination. Moreover, our participation in ITB China comes at a particularly critical juncture, where the Chinese travel market is recovering dynamically and is repositioning itself at the center of global tourism interest.”
