Meeting for the strategic orientation of Greek tourism with the “peak” of timely planning to participate in international tourism fairs and the promotion of established and emerging – but extremely dynamic – tourist markets, held on Tuesday, July 15, the President of the Hellenic Federation. Fedhatta and President of the Association of Tourism and Travel Agencies (HATTA) Mr. Nikolas Kelaiditis with the Secretary General. of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) Mr. Andreas Fiorentino, at the offices of EOT. At the meeting, the “present” also gave the coordination of Greek participation in international tourism exhibitions, Mr. Polina Vrachati.
The meeting was held in the context of the Fedhatta and HATTA cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the EOT, and focused on the need for modernization, rationalization and operational upgrading of Greece’s participation framework in international tourism fairs, with the aim of enhancing its promotion.
During the meeting, strategic synchronization issues raised issues, including the urgent need for a timely announcement of the annual program of participation in international exhibitions, with a time horizon of at least twelve months, to ensure the uninterrupted preparation of their participation and their participation. As the presidents of the two bodies representing the Greek tourism offices industry have underlined, the delay in announcement of the annual exhibition program deprives the possibility of taking important opportunities for the promotion of Greek tourism, which competitive countries have already established as a good practice.
Particular emphasis was placed on the utilization of the collaboration developed by Fedhatta and EATTA with ECTAA* as the Tourist Offices of the 27 EU countries and WTAA ** (World Travel Agents’ and the improvement of interregional tourism mobility.
Through this light, the two bodies highlighted the importance of promoting the Greek tourism product through international tourism fairs focused on the markets of India, China and Latin America, with the latter being a great opportunity for Greek tourism as many of its visitors to Europe. Fedhatta and HATTA emphasized the value of the Latin America market for Greece, as it consists of travelers with a strong interest in the key features that make up the Greek tourism product such as culture, conferences, thematic tourism, winemaking, gastronomy and tourism and tourism.
