German travel agencies will be in Kos from October 15 to 19, as part of the fvw|TravelTalk Greece workshop, which will focus on the development of Greek tourism and the promotion of the diversity of Greek destinations. The program also includes boat trips to the neighboring islands of Nisyros and Kalymnos.
The initiative of the German travel agency is not new to Kos. In 2016, fvw|TravelTalk had visited the island, a popular destination for German vacationers. This year, the participants will get to know the Dodecanese island again, with its sandy beaches and cultural monuments. Among other things, they will attend the ceremony of the ancient version of the Hippocratic Oath, honoring the “father of modern medicine”, who lived on the island some 2,500 years ago.
FVW, the largest tourism media in Germany, with a history of 53 years, is co-organizing fvw|TravelTalk Greece with the support of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT), Aegean Airlines, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCC), Grecotel Hotels & Resorts and local organizations. The centerpiece of the event will be a conference moderated by fvw editor-in-chief Klaus Hildebrandt, which will be attended by representatives of major travel agencies, hoteliers, Aegean Airlines executives and senior officials of Greek tourism.
With the end of the summer season approaching, discussions will focus on the assessment of this summer, but mainly on strategies for next year and new prospects for the summer of 2026.
Germany remains the largest source market for Greek tourism. According to data from the Bank of Greece, the first half of 2025 recorded a 4.7% increase in arrivals of German visitors, who exceeded 1.9 million. Revenue from the German market increased even more, by 13.5%, reaching 1.4 billion euros.
Participants will be hosted at the Grecotel LuxMe Kos, as the group celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Aegean Airlines will transport travelers with connections via Athens from the airports of D?sseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich and Hamburg.
The Kos workshop is the eleventh in the series organized by fvw|TravelTalk in Greece, following successful stops in Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, Athens and Halkidiki.
